Overview

The Certificate in Design Thinking enables students to assist their organisations in bringing about dynamic transformations through the design thinking process. Students benefit from understanding innovation, creativity, teamwork, and end-user focus.

Students learn to understand the role of Design Thinking in management. The course covers reframing problems and arriving at innovative solutions through interviews and observations.

Curriculum

The course includes the following key modules:

  1. Design for Individual, Others and Society
  2. Design Thinking Tools
  3. Design Thinking Processes

Entry Requirements

Minimum Academic Requirements

  • GCE 'N' Level: 3 passes (including English).
  • NITEC: Holders or equivalent.
  • Secondary School Qualification: Or equivalent.

English Language Requirement

  • IELTS: 4.5 or equivalent.

Assessment & Graduation

Assignments, assessment tasks

Modules are independent. Assessment methods vary by module but generally focus on practical application of design thinking concepts.

Note: In case students fail the main examination of a particular module, they are allowed to sit for ‘One’ supplement assessment with payment of the appropriate fee*. Students are to re-take the module; shall they fail the supplementary assessment. Modules are independent of each other.

Graduation Requirements

Students must complete and pass all 3 modules to be awarded the Certificate in Design Thinking will be conferred by CSM Academy International Pte Ltd. Local students must achieve an attendance of 75% and international students must achieve an attendance of 90%.
